The former overflow car park for Laindon Railway Station in Basildon has been transformed into a desirable development of 38 affordable homes.  The scheme was designed by bptw Partnership and constructed by Hill Partnerships for Genesis Housing Group.

The development contains two distinct areas with 8 terrace houses and 2 three storey blocks of flats.  The homes range from 1 bedroom flats for couples through to 4 bedroom family homes.  The scheme was built using a timber frame and brick cladding to help it settle into its residential surroundings.

Valance Way is located to the west of Basildon town centre but is only 5 minutes walk from Laindon Station which has regular services to London and the rest of Essex.  On the far side of Laindon station there are many shops, schools and local amenities that make Valance Way an ideal place to live.

The scheme was completed in July 2008
