Located just half a mile from Basildon Town Centre, the Cranes Farm Road development comprises 60 terraced and semi-detached homes, of which 32 are for affordable rent and 28 for shared ownership.
This project, which was delivered by Logic Homes as part of Genesis Housing Groups' Challenge Fund II Programme, was constructed using timber frame construction by Logic Homes' partner Allenbuild.
The scheme designed by Logic Homes partner, bptw partnership, has involved particular attention to the local environment and includes the creation of a wildlife habitat adjacent to the site.
The scheme's first phase was handed over in October 2007, with the final units being completed in April 2008.
The scheme played host to an event in November 2008 to celebrate it's completion. The Rt Hon Angela Smith MP, Basildon & East Thurrock, spoke of her pleasure that these developments were not all flats, she said that a lot of people, especially families, in her constituency wanted houses and she was pleased that this seemed to be happening with the schemes in Basildon.
