Completed in December 2007 the Johnson Court development in Rochford has provided another 4 affordable homes in the area.  Built on the site of the former Rochford Hospital and adjacent to surviving Grade II listed hospital buildings the designers and contractors had to work with strict conservation constraints.  Designed by E&M Design and constructed by Allenbuild SE for Genesis Housing Group subsidiary Springboard Housing Association.  The scheme is located close to other Logic Homes schemes – St Luke’s & St Mark’s Field.

 

Designed in keeping with the surrounding buildings the four 1 bedroom homes are arranged over two floors in this self contained block.  To comply with building regulations special Crittal-like windows had to be commissioned for the scheme.  The scheme used a timber frame and brickwork and achieved a Eco Homes rating of Very Good.
