The development of Thomas Road is the largest Logic Homes grant funded scheme to date.  The construction of 182 homes on the site of a former warehouse beside the Limehouse Cut has transformed the area.  Half the homes in the development are affordable with 71 units designated for General Needs Rent and another 20 for Intermediate Rent.

 

The scheme was designed by Child Graddon Lewis Architects and constructed by Durkan Limited for Genesis Housing Group, work completed on the scheme in March 2010.

 

The 182 homes contain a mix of 1 bedroom properties for couples all the way through to large 5 bedroom family maisonettes.  Also contained within the scheme is underground parking, cycle storage, a children’s playground and commercial space.  The development also has the services of a concierge on site.

 

The development is half a mile from Limehouse DLR station and a mile from Canary Wharf and Mile End underground stations making it ideal for City workers and those commuting into the West End.  In the heart of Poplar the development is close to Mile End Stadium, local parks and waterways around the docklands as well as schools and shops.  Further investment in the area is guaranteed as Tower Hamlets is one of five Olympic Boroughs in advance of the 2012 London Games.
