SHP
The GHM Consultancy Group consists of six operating divisions each representing specialist skills ranging from project management, engineering and planning supervision to architecture, interior design and housing consultancy.
SHP is the Group's affordable housing consultancy division. Operating independently within the Group, SHP has the benefit of being able to utilise the resources and disciplines of the other Group divisions. SHP provides a comprehensive service tailored to meet the individual and specific requirements of each project, and whilst innovative solutions are encouraged it seeks to draw on the established experience and knowledge it has gained in the residential sector.
SHP seeks to achieve successful project delivery through establishing a clear brief from the very outset whilst understanding the commercial, socio-economic or politically driven needs of clients that underpin their project related objectives; be they prescriptive technical criteria or budgetary constraints. In taking this approach SHP often finds that projects are more likely to provide added value to a clients' wider business.
SHP's procedures for ensuring good design are founded in its management approach. It is a primary function of the project directors' responsibility to seek an understanding of the clients' project requirements in order to translate them into a clear and measurable brief for delivery by the team. This management approach includes regular reviews throughout the duration of the project to ensure appropriate responses are in place to reflect changing needs as a project progresses through to completion.
SHP's order book boasts 85% repeat business, a reputation reflective of its attention to detail in support of the strategic visions of clients.
SHP is fully aware of the regulatory and funding framework in which RSL's operate and the standards that are expected of them in order to deliver their development programmes. Consequently SHP has considerable expertise in detailed matters in relation to SDS standards, HQI's, Ecohomes, lifetime homes, Modern Methods of Construction, use of the sustainability toolkit & specialist housing needs and requirements.
Similarly there is an awareness that developers and joint venture organisations need to satisfy their shareholders' demand for profitability and stability, whilst maintaining returns that reflect the capital deployed in their investment.
SHP's experience and success also includes bidding as a consortium member in relation to government initiatives lead by English Partnerships, DCLG, the Housing Corporation and others. SHP are able to make a positive contribution in consultation with stakeholders including Local Authorities and tenant resident groups.
