Nov 08 - Basildon Site Event

The event started with a key handing over ceremony for the new owners of the a 3 bedroom family home in the Genesis Housing Group development of Lordes Hall, Basildon.

Guests were invited to view the house after the ceremony and some brief remarks from the Springboard Housing Association's Director of Housing and Business Support, Richard Barr.

The tour then moved on to Florence Way, where Doug Botley Hill Partnerships and Philip Addo of Genesis Housing Group, guided the group around the two schemes, which are separated by a road.  They informed the group of problems encountered during the build and the ways they had overcome these.

Finally the tour moved to Cranes Farm Road, where guests were joined by residents of the scheme.  Once again the Richard Barr of Springboard HA spoke briefly about all four developments.  Alan Wright, a partner at bptw Partnerships which designed Florence Way, Valance Way and Cranes Farm Road, spoke about Logic Homes and the ways it helped save time and money from the process of building new homes and communities.

Rab Fallon, Head of Housing Strategy and Council Services, Basildon District Council, spoke of the great new homes being built in Basildon, he thanked the residents for allowing the event to take place and Genesis Housing Group for bringing the homes to Basildon.

The Rt Hon Angela Smith MP, Basildon & East Thurrock, spoke of her pleasure that these developments were not all flats, she said that a lot of people, especially families, in her constituency wanted houses and she was pleased that this seemed to be happening with the schemes in Basildon

The guests were then invited to tour the home of Anna and her daughter Georgina on the Cranes Farm Road scheme
